MVA Announces Emergency Preparedness Drill
Glen Burnie, MD (June 2, 2008) - The Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA), in cooperation with local and state law enforcement and emergency response agencies, will conduct a practice emergency drill, Saturday morning, June 7, 2008 from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m., at the Glen Burnie MVA branch office, according to MVA Administrator John Kuo.
This drill is held to simulate the response in the event of an actual emergency or "critical incident" at the MVA headquarters located at 6601 Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie. The drill will allow MVA personnel to practice their emergency roles with the local and state emergency preparedness agencies.
Citizens should expect to see fire trucks, ambulances, police cars, and other official traffic involved in the practice exercise. Residents and businesses located near the Glen Burnie MVA Headquarters office are cautioned not to be alarmed by the activity. There is NO actual emergency at the MVA at this location.
This "full scale" practice emergency exercise is conducted by the MVA for use as a learning tool in the event of an actual emergency.
