Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Offically Opens New Baltimore City MVA Branch Office
Newly Relocated Office Will Continue to Service Baltimore City

BALTIMORE, MD (June 8, 2011) -- Maryland Department of Transportation Secretary Beverly Swaim-Staley, Motor Vehicle Administrator John Kuo and several other state and local dignitaries cut the ceremonial red ribbon today to officially open the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration's (MVA) new Baltimore City MVA branch office located in the Hilltop Shopping Center at 5425 Reisterstown Road, Baltimore, Maryland.    The new office replaces the former Baltimore City Branch office that was located adjacent to the Mondawmin Mall.

Secretary Swaim-Staley said that in the new location "MVA is ready to continue serving the approximately 26,000 city residents each month who were served at the old location in Mondawmin Mall."  She added that all-in-all the move is a win-win situation as part of the Park Heights Community Revitalization Project for the city of Baltimore, the MVA and Maryland.

MVA Administrator John Kuo remarked, "We chose this location because we care about serving the citizens of Baltimore City." He also said, "We (MVA) are pleased to be able to provide the wide range of services here at the Hilltop Shopping Center that we did in our former location."

At the new Baltimore City MVA Hilltop location, MVA customers can still apply for or renew their driver’s licenses, obtain identification cards, return license plates.  In addition, they can renew their vehicle registrations, receive driving records and complete many other transactions via the State’s first 24 hour MVA kiosk. The new office is conveniently located on two major Baltimore City thoroughfares:  Reisterstown Road and Northern Parkway, and just a few (3.2) miles from the Baltimore City branch office location at Mondawmin. The hours of operation are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturday.
