The Rookie Driver Program is Maryland's Motor Vehicle Administration working with drivers to make sharing the road safer for everyone - especially new drivers.  An important part of this effort is the Rookie Driver, Maryland's graduated licensing system for new drivers.

Choose Safety for Life represents a coalition of safety partners and calls upon drivers, pedestrians and cyclists to make safe, sound decisions when traveling Maryland roadways.  By making the right choices, you can save lives and prevent injuries.

The Maryland Highway Safety Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization, was founded in 2008 as the result of a team of concerned business, civic and community leaders committed to reducing motor vehicle crash-related deaths and educating the public on safer driving practices. The mission of the Maryland Highway Safety Foundation is to educate motorists, prevent collisions and save lives.

The Smooth Operator Program is a public safety initiative, which aims to provide education, information and solutions for the problem of aggressive driving.  For nearly ten years, Maryland, Virginia and Washington D.C., have partnered through the Smooth Operator Program to combat aggressive driving.

The MVA has supported the MD/DC/VA Smooth Operator campaign since its inception. Working hand-in-hand with law enforcement, we raise awareness on the dangers of aggressive driving and encourage safer driving. The central theme of the 2009 Smooth Operator campaign is “Speeding and Aggressive Driving Shatter Lives.”

Drunk Driving.  Over the Limit.  Under Arrest. is a zero tolerance approach on drunk driving.  If you are caught driving impaired - you will be arrested.

Click it or Ticket is one of the most effective campaigns in traffic safety combining education and enforcement.  In Maryland, it has helped to create a 93 percent seat belt usage rate.

Their Future is in Your Hands is an MVA initiative that believes parents must spend time teaching their teens how to be safe drivers.  As a role model, coach, teacher, and manager, parents are the key to teen driver's safety.

Street Smart is a public education, awareness and behavioral change campaign designed in response to the challenges of pedestrian and bicyclist safety.

Work Zone Safety is a campaign to raise public and driver awareness on the dangers of highway work zones.
