MVA Celebrates Earth Day 2010 - April 22, 2010
On April 22nd the MVA celebrated Earth Day by officially announcing its Comprehensive Recycling Program. The MVA instituted a full recycling program at all of its branches. The program includes recycling of cardboard, paper, and commingled materials.
Chief Deputy Administrator Milton Chaffee spoke to an audience of MVA staff about the importance of recycling and the many benefits it provides. In honor of Earth Day and as part of Maryland’s “Plant a Million Trees” initiative, 800 seedlings were handed out to employees. The seedlings included native plants such as Red & White Oaks and Red Buds.
