The MVA can administer your vision screening when you apply for or renew a noncommercial or commercial driver's license. As an alternative, you can have the vision screening performed by a licensed ophthalmologist or optometrist. See Vision Requirements for more information.
Note: Effective March 25, 2013, driver's license holders who are 40 years of age and older may now be eligible to renew using the MVA's Kiosk or Online services if your Eye Care Provider (Physician, Optometrist or Ophthalmologist) is licensed to practice in Maryland and has become an authorized MVA Online Vision Certification Provider. - There is no fee for vision screening performed by the MVA.
