Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration Announces Holiday Schedule
“Skip the Trip to the MVA and Go Online”
GLEN BURNIE, MD (December 16, 2010) -- All Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) offices are open for business Monday, December 20 through Wednesday, December 22, 2010 and again on Monday, December 27 through Wednesday, December 29, 2010 during the weeks of Christmas and New Year’s.
The MVA will close its full-service and express offices on Thursday, December 23 through Saturday, December 25, 2010 and again on Thursday December 30, 2010 through Saturday, January 1, 2011. All Vehicle Emissions Inspection Program (VEIP) stations will also be closed. These closures are in observance of the statewide budget reduction plan as well as Christmas and New Year's Day. The MVA and VEIP stations will reopen on Monday, January 3, 2010 at 8:30 AM.
Customers are advised that the days before and after a holiday are especially busy, and they are encouraged to “skip the trip and go online” to complete their MVA transaction. Many MVA transactions can be completed via the Internet (www.mva.maryland.gov) with eMVA. They include:
- Renew Vehicle Registrations
- Obtain Duplicate/Additional Registration Card
- Replace Titles
- Change your Address
- Obtain Driving Records
- Obtain Temporary Registration
- Purchase Background Scene License Plates
- Purchase Personalized Plates
- Purchase County Pride Stickers
- Download & Print Specific Forms
- Get Information on Administrative Flag Fee
- Extension of your Vehicle Emission Inspection Program (VEIP) Test Date
The eMVA is available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Log on to www.mva.maryland.gov and click on “Online Services.”
Customers can also complete transactions via the MVA Interactive Voice Response Phone System by calling 1-888-834-7344. This system can handle the renewal of a vehicle registration and the payment of an Administrative Flag Fee.
This holiday season, the MVA encourages you to skip the trip. Use a more convenient method to complete your MVA transaction from the comfort of your home or office. Have a happy holiday season and remember to always buckle up and please drive safely.
