Welcome to the MVA Online Driver Test Tutorial!

The Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) provides its Online Driver Test Tutorial to use as a practice guide to help you prepare for the knowledge test that all new drivers must pass to obtain a learner's permit.  There are twenty (20) random questions each time you take the practice test.  You have a choice of taking the timed (15 minutes) or untimed version of the online tutorial.  The answers to the questions can be found in the Maryland Driver's Handbook and All You Need to Know About Your Driver's License.  The untimed version of the tutorial will direct you to the appropriate page to find more information on each topic.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:  Approximately 51% of individuals fail the knowledge test on the first attempt!  To ensure your success, be sure to thoroughly study the Maryland Driver's Handbook and All You Need to Know About Your Driver's License prior to taking your test at a MVA branch office. Keep in mind, this Online Driver Test Tutorial provides a sample of the topics that can appear on the knowledge test.  Therefore, relying solely on this tutorial as a study guide will significantly reduce your chance of passing the knowledge test.
