Bonding Requirements and Fines for Vehicle Related Businesses

The purpose of this document is to provide information about the surety bond amounts required before a business license can be issued. Also included are the fine amounts that may be imposed on a business for failure to comply with MVA standards. Dealer Fines

Reason	Fee	Comments
Fine for dealer's late submission of documents, taxes and/or fees	$15.00 per transaction	Assessed when title documents, excise tax and related fees for a vehicle transaction are submitted by a dealer to the MVA more than 30 days after the vehicle's date of delivery
Additional late submission fine	$1.00 per transaction per day	Assessed on the second late day and each day late thereafter.
