Governor O'Malley, Senator Miller Announce Expanded Service Hours at the Prince Frederick MVA
Office Will Be Open An Additional Day Each Week; Customer Convenience is Key

GLEN BURNIE, MD (February 20, 2008) - Working cooperatively, Governor Martin O'Malley and Senate President Mike Miller today announced an expansion of service at the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration Office in Prince Frederick in Calvert County.  Currently, the Prince Frederick office is open Monday and Tuesday of each week from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Effective April 16, 2008, the Prince Frederick MVA Branch will be open to the public for an additional full day, each week, providing services on Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

"The Southern Maryland region, including Calvert County, is one of the fastest-growing areas in the state," said Governor O'Malley.  "Our top priority at the MVA is to meet the needs of our customers by being convenient and efficient.  By opening the Prince Frederick office an additional day each week, we can offer citizens more flexibility to conduct their MVA business when it is convenient for them."

The Prince Frederick MVA Office is a satellite branch that provides the most in-demand MVA services to the public.  These include the issuance of driver's license renewals and identification cards and tag returns (license plates being turned in). The branch conducts approximately 19,500 transactions annually.

"Working with Governor O'Malley and Secretary Porcari to expand MVA services in Calvert County, I've seen the administration's commitment to the citizens of Southern Maryland," stated Senator Miller.  "Calvert County will benefit greatly by the additional services and we look forward to continuing our work together to further expand the needs of our constituents."

The Prince Frederick MVA Office is located at 200 Duke Street in the Louis L. Goldstein District Court - Multi-Service Center in Prince Frederick, Maryland. The closest full-service MVA branches are located in Charles County at Waldorf and in St. Mary's County at Loveville.
